Jose and Angel - The Chias
by Joe Cook

Jose the Gringo and Angel the brat
Were having a romp, yes their daily spat
Jose wanted to sleep and the other to play
This went on and on till the end of the day
If Jose was on your lap and enjoying the quiet
Here would come Angel, wanting to nibble and bite
Then there would be growling and fighting and all kinds of noise
Till I just can't take it you bad little boys
Out of here you barking baboons
It's outside for you now and none too soon!!
Then after a while they were let back in
Then dadgumit it starts all over again.

Now sit up and beg and say Umgowwas
Now it's Ben's time to write about these galloping Chihuahuas
One white and the other white and brown mix
Who likes to chase bugs and maybe some sticks
Poor Angel is not living up to his name, the little hog
He is bad about leaving a puddle or a Lincoln Log
At least he's choosy where he leaves his stinky matter
Just watch the rugs before stepping, it might scatter
The smell starts spreading around the floor and your toes
Before you find it, it's all in your nose
Have mercy little dog and learn the routine
This darn house is not a latrine!

They will howl every time a siren goes by
They make us laugh so hard we almost cry
When your sitting they want to be in your lap
And join you for every little nap
They were with Margaret when she passed away
I know they will miss her in their own little way
The warmth of your body they seem to yearn
And leave a little warmth in your heart in return
The hair they leave on the chairs and the messes in the hall
Can't equal the pleasure they bring to us all
And when the day's work is done and we lay down to rest
We are just one big family and this time is the best

Remember, God put us in charge of all the animals,
The birds in the air, and the fish in the sea
We must look after them, even if they bite the hand that feeds them.
